ANNOUNCEMENTS
President Kent Waide presented the Nominees as of 11/7/07
for 2008-09. President Kent Waide asked for nominations
from the floor. There was a motion from the floor to halt
nominations and to accept the names presented to the club.
The motion was seconded and the nominees were accepted as
the 2008-09 slate of officers.

Ron Sanders asked everyone to show their appreciation to
Margo Scott for all her hard work and the time she has put
into the Rotary Cheerleaders.
Margo Scott sent an email letting everyone know that we
missed a great evening. All the cheer squads looked great
and had a wonderful time. And a special thank you to Joe,
Ron, Alice and Gary for your help.

When you invite someone to Rotary, be sure to give them
a brochure and an application to fill out.
Mark your calendar: The Rotary Club Christmas party will
be Thursday, December 6th.
Everybody is doing great wearing your Rotary Badges during
the meeting! Keep up the new habit!
Don’t forget to turn off all cell-phones during the
meeting or set them to vibrate. I am not sure but, I think
this includes your “Blackberries” and so forth.
Please, let us have respect for our guests and speakers.

- Our Historian, Bliss Powell, was not in attendance.
PROGRAM
Mike Eubanks and Gary Scott responsible for the program.
Jane Ann Jackson of the Madisonville-Bicentennial Committee
introduced our special guest Governor Ruby Laffoon. The
Governor was actually Dr. Morris Yates, one of 17 people
who have portrayed notable Madisonville-Hopkins County natives
during this year of bicentennial activities.
