MADISONVILLE ROTARY HISTORY MOMENT - Our Historian, Bliss Powell shared a few memories from Christmas Past!
Including, the Rotary club had a float in the Christmas parade and he drove the truck that carried a big Rotary Wheel in the back. Bliss wished everyone a Merry Christmas!

President Kent Waide presented Ron Sanders on the behalf the Heroes of the Red Cross campaign and Captain Steward on half the Salvation Army each a check for $1000.

PROGRAM - Wade Clements, manager of operations for the Kentucky Department of Transportation branch District 2.
Mr. Clements was full of information about the removal of snow from the highways. They have 108 trucks and 216 drivers. The experienced drivers work during the daylight hours and the inexperienced drivers work at night. In other words stay clear of the trucks especially at night. In October, they get snow removal equipment out in October to make sure everything is in working order for the season that starts November 1 and ends April 1. The Commonwealth of Kentucky statewide spends 1.3 million dollars for snow removal. I don’t know about you all, but I wish we all could stay at home during this time and save the state a bunch of money each winter.

Upcoming Programs/Events - We had two drawings, one for a snack mix; it was a gift from the College. Bliss Powell had the winning ticket.
